Another Herm Edwards blunder.....

He is doing a breakdown on espn of his top 5 best team drafts so far through 3 rounds and he said......"Well, when you are picking high it's very difficult to draft good players, for the most part. Lot of pressure. But I'm gonna go with the Colts! WTF! His #4 TEAM

How in the world was it hard to screw up the Luck pick and get weapons around him and or pick guys to transform from a 4-3 to a 3-4?

Fritz88 04-28-2012 07:43 AM

I'll credit Herm with our 08 draft.

He drafted well, real well.

I couldn't agree more. But how can he make THAT statement?

Okie_Apparition 04-28-2012 07:45 AM

I bet women just surrendered hoping it would shut him up

TrickyNicky 04-28-2012 07:48 AM

He was probably just a little flustrated.

Wait, wait, wait, wait........in another thread some were giving Carl credit for the 08 draft. Not saying you were one of them, but which is it? Is the 08 draft a result of Carl or Herm?

The only thing Herm did well was draft. He has to try to make it seem harder to make himself feel better.

The '08 draft is the result of Herman ****ing Edwards going over Carl's head and getting Clark Hunt to buy into a full blown rebuild, which in turn resulted in Clark Hunt turning Carl into a figurehead in the draft room.

But the guys really responsible for the picks were Bill Kuharich, Chuck Cook, and the scouting staff.

I would gladly have moved forward with Bill Kuharich as GM, with another head coach in place of Herman ****ing Edwards.

i didn't care for the germs style of coaching, but i will give him credit. the man knew how to draft (mostly) quality players.

you'd think that a team would hire him just for that

i honestly believe that he's got it in his head that he's only head coach material.

he'd be better suited as head of personal, or dictator of players or whatever.

he'll always be a liar in my book.

Extra Point 04-28-2012 10:08 AM

He owes his whole career to a recovered fumble.

JohnnyHammersticks 04-28-2012 10:23 AM

I'm always embarrassed for Herm when I see him on ESPN, but I'm not sure why, because he seems to relish his role there as some sort of clownish, step-and-fetch-it, court jester-type. It's hard to determine which he likes more--the camera, or the sound of his own voice. I think it's a tie. If he'd have spent half as much time prepping his team as he did prepping himself to appear on camera in Hard Knocks, we might have been a little better than 4-12 that year. The crazy thing is, if he's actually stupid enough to wait around for another HC opportunity, there's probably some owner/GM combo out there that's stupid enough to give him one someday.

Haha awesome. I think it's funny that this whole draft he's been asking someone to "call me" to select him in the draft. A joke of course but I like to view it as him begging to get back into the league with a job. No one wants you Herm.
