Since when is "God Bless America" a stand up and remove your hat song?
 

I was at the Royals game on Sunday, and before the singing of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame", someone sang "God Bless America".

I was already standing, so I sang along, but I heard some dumbass hayseed yell "TAKE OFF YERRRR HAT" to another fan.

At what point did this become a "tradition", like the singing of "take me out" at Major League Baseball games?

ive heard a few arguments over the years that the National Anthem should be changed to God Bless America or American the Beautiful.

I was at that game also. since when did they start singing 2 meaningless songs during a game? it used to be only one. that girl singing sucked too.
