Really hard to like Matt Cassel.

I can't help it. He is nothing I like in a quarterback other than his ability to actually just walk out onto the field.

He's such a terrible representative for this team. He can't make deep throws, he cant make short touch throws, and he can't even throw a screen pass. He acts like he thinks he's actually good because he made the pro bowl once.

He once played in a charity softball game and got booed by a home crowd and he's married to a woman that got a Jay Leno chin transplant.

He's really fiery, even having that awesome exchange of words with Haley last year despite his lack of ground to stand on because of his sustained suckage. He'll get in a fight, even a physical fight for the guys in red and the whole team hopes he gets his ass kicked so he can go on the DL. He can't even put a hat on properly. He knows the playbook well but he can't execute a single play from it.

He's got the beta-male thing going on and that's super lame.

He gets paid like ONE BILLION DOLLARS to throw screen pass INTs.

And we all know it: if Matt Cassel was not on this team the Chiefs would probably be a better team.

Chiefs fans,

Would u rather a nice guy QB who's mediocre or a QB with some character flaws but who wins like a Roethlisberger?

He had to sip out of a partially filled coke glass!

It doesn't have to be either or.

My entire point with Matt Cassel wasn't that I preferred him over such-and-such.

Just that he wasn't complete garbage, and that otherwise he is an incredibly likeable guy.

I think we all forget that because we objectify players as commodities.

If Cassel was even a "pretty good" Pro Bowler, he'd be everybody's favorite player on CP.

Cassel can be the nicest guy on the planet, but if he can't help the team win games then I don't want him in a Chiefs uniform, it's that simple. As fans we pay money and get too emotionally involved into our teams to have someone like Cassel shit their pants every Sunday from Sept-Jan. The fact is, the NFL is a passing league and the ones that make it to the SB are the QB's that make others around them better. There are about 20 QB's that are better than Cassel, and this is including rookies who have yet to take an real live NFL reg season snap. When you have a QB that does the opposite, no matter how good of talent there is around him, you're only going to go as far as the weakest link, and with Cassel being the QB, it's a HUGE weak link. And on a roster that (at least on paper) can be a top 5 unit, Cassel is what's preventing this team from ever really chasing a SB.

I just hope to God he proves me, and everyone on this board wrong. Because what I see down the road is that Cassel continues to play in a Chiefs uniform and all of our star players will have played past their prime by the time we get a QB capable of taking this team to the SB.

I like Matt Castile and he might actually be good and he hasn't received a fair chance and most of those int's werent his fault and he is just like Trent was before Trent got really good and the o line sucked but now it's ok but he should be better this year because Todd Haley was a dickhead ok?

Makes sense

I'd rather have James Holmes as our quarterback. Shotgun formation would be stellar
