Question: Why can't we back out of the Alex Smith trade now? (or can we?)
Just out of total curiosity, what would happen if the front office didn't sign the trade deal on the 12th?
Would this be a violation of any rule, written or unwritten? Would other teams not trust the FO? (They didn't sign anything yet, so I can't see this....) All is fair in Love & War? |
That's evil ****ing genious!
Make it happen Clarks. |
Why not? Nothing official from us about the trade.
|
To clarify it would be a pretty scumbag move though.
|
You're really asking if it would be breaking an unwritten rule? Really?
|
Highly doubt KC will back out of the trade.

would it be viewed as such by the other organizations or is it not a deal till the ink is dry? |
There would be no penalty from the NFL. Pretty sure teams would become leery of making phone calls with us before trade seasons open again, though.
I don't know enough about the inner workings of NFL front offices to say if that's a big deal or not |
Keep him, pay off his 2-year contract. Then trade him for Foles and some picks.
|
It would be a dick move....but it would be a ****ing hilarious dick move.
|
Who leaked the trade story anyways? Us, or them?
If we didnt go around confirming it, I dont see why it would be an issue if we were to back out. Both parties knew it was unofficial until the 12th. |
Im sure they could.....but i highly doubt they would. Signing bowe and tagging Albert are all part of their secret master plan.....and that plan includes Alex Smith.

I think we should come back to the table and offer less.
