Aren't you glad Reid didn't bring Vick with him to KC?

Evidently some people think his redemption story is a fraud and threats have been made to him and his family.

"Michael Vick has canceled appearances to promote his new book because of death threats against him and his family.

Vick was scheduled to sign copies of his autobiography, “Finally Free,” at Barnes and Noble stores in Atlanta, New Jersey and Pennsylvania until receiving threats in connection with his past involvement in a dog fighting ring, for which he served time in prison.

“We cannot knowingly put anyone in harm’s way,” Byron Williamson, president of Worthy Publishing, told Phillymag.com’s Tim McManus, “and therefore we must announce the cancellation of Mr. Vick’s book-signing appearances.”

Protest Vick the dog killer coming to your town after you've had some chicken fingers and milk. Never mind how they made it to your table.

Who cares?

The guy served actual, pound you in the ass prison time for what he did, something pretty rare these days for a pro athlete as popular as he was, he didnt get any money/fame consideration... its high time people have a heart and let it go, imo.

I'm a huge dog person, but the dude did his time.

Leavenworth isn't bad, honestly. It's much easier time to serve than state prison or county jail. And he was in protective custody the majority if his time.

People who consider dogs so important that human beings should be murdered do not have their priorities straight. The man did his time. He certainly has more legal karma to pay back than Kellen Winslow and Leonard Little did when they killed actual people.

And Ray Lewis and Marvin Harrison. Allegedly.

Exactly, you've got guys like Little and Winslow, or a Pacman who's atleast partially responsible for putting a guy in a wheelchair for the rest of his life... where are the threats on their lives?

These PETA assholes don't care about people. That's who I'm guessing was responsible for the death threats. Either a PETA asshole, or someone who should be a PETA asshole.

I didnt mean to imply that his life/manhood was in danger, pretty much figured he was watched over with extra consideration... but its still a legit prison.

Its funny though, i've heard other people say exactly what you're saying about how some county jails are even worse than actual prison.

This. Vick took his punishment like a man. People need to let it go.

Yeah I've heard that as well about county jails. Either way, an athlete of his caliber typically gets away scott free (dur! that's you! :p) and he didn't. He shut his mouth and served his time. People need to get over it. There's thousands of people out there hurting people, raping children, murdering, etc.

Don't think it's the killing part, it's the abusing with indifference to their death. If he was a chicken ****er peeps would likely have a problem with that too.

Not saying he still deserves death threats...anyone dumb enough buy his book however :hmmm:
