Refinancing Question
I was filling out an application online to refinance my home today. When I got all the way to the end of the application the banking institution asked for my credit card stating that if for any reason the loan falls through I would be liable for any charges accrued by the bank.
I have refinanced once before and I don't recall having to do anything like that. Is that a normal banking practice? They really didn't state what kind of fees they were talking about or what was the max they could charge. PenFed was the banking institution. And if you know anyone doing a better rate that 2.5 for 15 years please fill free to let me know. |
I recently did this also, they charged my credit card for the appraisal, about 400. They credited it back to me at the closing. They have an independent appraiser so they have to pay them.

Normal. Don't be scurred.

Never heard of it, at least I didn't have to provide one when we refinanced in 2009.
Freaking banking and credit industry, Just another way it's trying to force everyone to carrying plastic. :grr: |
Its normal, IMO.....probably to order the appraisal..

PenFed kicks ass. Don't know anything about that app though.
