Crazy prediction: Donald Stephenson gets traded during the preseason.

I look at this OL depth, and I see one player that doesn't belong.

At left tackle, we have Branden Albert and Eric Fisher backing him up.

At left guard, we have Jeff Allen with Geoff Schwartz playing swing guard.

At center, we have Rodney Hudson and Eric Kush.

Right guard, Jon Asamoah with Schwartz backing up.

At right tackle, we have Eric Fisher with coach-favorite Matt Reynolds on board.

I think Donald Stephenson is the odd man out.

That said, he has starting ability, and the Chiefs don't want to simply cut the guy. So I believe they play him a ton in the preseason, then try to swing a deal for him.

Under normal circumstances, I think you could score a 4th for him, or even trick a team into getting your 3rd rounder back that you spent on him. But given that teams only trade with us when they can rape us (thanks to the Javier Arenas trade...), I don't know if we'll be able to get anything higher than a 5th.

Likely for a fullback.

Should not trade. In 2014 could be starting RT.

Donald Stephonson will not be traded.

This staff s going to recognize the athletic ability and potential this kid has, and will bring him along this season to take over at one of the tackle positions next season should they not get Albert signed long term.

This kid has a higher ceiling than either Albert or Fisher.

Another option is that they don't re-sign Asamoah, and plug in Stephenson at RG, I suppose.

Pretty sure he was playing there with the 1s at one point at OTAs.

Rasputin 05-18-2013 09:19 AM

I think Andy Reid values OL more than any other position so I highly doubt they trade Stephenson.

mcaj22 05-18-2013 09:25 AM

yea but they are not keeping four OL backups on the 53 man

so

Schwartz
Stephenson
Kush
Reynolds

1 or 2 of them are flat out cut. I think they carry 8 max 9 OL on the 53 man

milkman 05-18-2013 09:34 AM

I think it's more likely that Jon Asamoah or Jeff Allen are traded.

O.city 05-18-2013 09:36 AM

I think it's more likely Reynolds is. A camp body. They guy has been cut twice an the eagles didnt even want to take him to camp.

No way he stays over Stephenson

jspchief 05-18-2013 09:39 AM

What the **** is Stephenson's trade value anyway?

Jesus Christ the value some of you guys put on perceived potential...

Someone on the OL is going to traded that's as far I am going to go.

ChiefAshhole20 05-18-2013 09:56 AM

After the injury debacle in Philly last year, I think Reid realizes the importance of having depth on O-line, and Stephenson is a great swing tackle. I think his spot is secure
