Homeowner's Insurance Costs In Kansas?

Just wondering.

With all the tornado storms forecast for this weekend what are you guys' homeowner's insurance costs like up there?

In Houston of course we are subject to hurricanes. Ike blew all the shingles off my roof, but I still had a roof.

We're not in tornado alley like Dallas.

My homeowner's insurance cost around 1500.00 per year.

How much do they charge you guys?

Depends on the value of the home. I can't remember what mine is because it is factored in my escrow. But I think it is in the 1500 range for 120K replacement.

We have a lot of claims though. We get frequent hailstorms. Plus we get all your hurricane winds without the rain.

I'm not really sure since it is just rolled into my mortgage payment. But across the border in Missouri it is pretty cheap since it is mostly trailer parks.

I pay $580 for a $190K home. That's for the "replacement cost" policy.

That is cheap.

Has it ever paid off?

I have State Farm and so far they've always come through.

I had water in my basement due to a failed sump pump. That's the only claim I've had and they paid for the cleanup. My rates didn't go up. I have NationWide and they give big discounts for high credit scores.
