First game of the toughest series we've had so far

Davis (4-6 5.55 ERA) vs. Milone (7-7 4.17 ERA) on the mound

It's salute the A's night. Everybody raise your right hand and SALUTE!

I having my pals Gary and Brad come over for BBQ and to watch the game. Today I've been slow smoking ribs, chicken and turkey, beans with little bits of brisket in them, and all the other goodies that go along. We will drink many beers and curse the evil, worthless Oakland Asses.

Another positive sign: Alex Gordon is taking batting practice.

Yes. He passed concussion tests and is cleared to play.

I guess that means as soon as his hip is ready, he'll be back in the line-up. Perhaps he can even pinch hit?

That's fantastic news. That means he'd avoid the 15 day DL, even the 7 day DL for the concussion.

We can get by without Gordon for a game or two, but it CANNOT be prolonged. I know he got a lot of shit from us in the past, especially with the "Alice" stuff, but he sure as hell came a long way.

Get well soon Alex, we need you back healthy.

I still have a soft spot in my heart for the A's. I shouldn't. But I do. If Charlie O. hadn't moved them after the 67 season imagine the teams/players/history we would be discussing. Three consecutive WS champions and some of the greatest players of that generation. And those ****ers had flair. The unis, the mustaches...they were awesome.
