A Sad Story: Why Can't People Leave Harmless Animals Alone?
I read this story on the front page of the KC Star this morning. I drive by Elmwood Cemetery on Truman Road every day on my way to work. I've seen Ella the Deer on a couple of occasions. She was more or less a "pet" inside the cemetery, and didn't harm a soul. Why somebody would shoot this gentle, beautiful animal for no reason is beyond me. Why do people have to be such assholes?
Story is here: http://www.kansascity.com/2013/08/05...-cemetery.html |
Short answer: a lot of people are worthless pieces of shit

I've been wanting to shoot the squirrels that are stealing my tomatoes.

Ironically, I'm making an enormous batch of venison jerky right now for a fishin trip.

Deer inside city limits seem very cute and nice. But, the fact is they are a danger. Many people get hurt and even killed in deer car collisions every year. Not to mention the money it costs to individuals and insurance.
The truth is the deer population needs to be thinned out. I really can't believe this was front page news. Must be very slow in KC this time of year. |

That cemetary is on Van Brunt, it probably just caught a stray bullet.

I could care less about someone killing a deer. There are too many of them and they are essentially pests. This particular one seemed to be more of a pet though. It pisses me off that they left it. If it turned out some homeless guys killed it for food, I could rationalize it, but to leave it lay is plain wrong.
