Alabama's Two AJs

Did a quick check and didnt see it posted, so hopefully its not a repost...

However great story worth watching. Wasn't the biggest fan of McCarron before seeing this, but he's a good kid. This type of stuff is always cool to see

Great story. One thing I was a little disappointed in is that the football program said they couldn't pay him. They pull in millions of dollars, but they can't afford to pay this guy at least minimum wage for his time? I understand they are letting him hang around and help with the equipment out of kindness, but if it was my decision I would pay him a small wage.

Opened this up at work today thinking it would be about McCarron on the field leader and off the field hangin' with Manziel, dating Musberger's tart of the game, etc.....

And then I get this. Wow. Forwarded it to 20 people already. And I have a feeling he will get paid before long. No University worth a damn let's a story like that not get completed by an alum endowing a position in both of their names to pay for a position for a student with disabilities to work in the Athletic Department.

So, they take a mentally and physically challenged kid and give him work they would pay to have done, and they don't pay him?

I like the story, but that part isn't quite kosher, and I'm sure there is talk in Alabama University about this right now.

I thought they made a movie about this with Cuba Gooding Jr. & Ed Harris?

AJ seems like a nice fellow.

Yep, and the disabled guy went on to be Head Coach at Kansas for a couple years.

AJ McCarron will be a good NFL QB for some team.
He's the perfect mold for a pro-style / run oriented team.
His play-action motion is nearly flawless.

I'd love for him to be here, but I'm not sure how/if he's ever been in a WCO.

and the kid with CP.....perspective is a MF. "Happiest man on the planet".

wow.
Roll Tide.

Actually, I would think that job would normally be done by volunteers or interns or something, but I agree, give the kid at least minimum wage.

yup.

ChiTown 12-18-2013 09:55 AM

Yep he is. There are lots of stories like this that have come out over the years.

Non-Feel Good moment, more game related; I remember when McCarron came in for McElroy during a blowout. and I 'think' on his first pass, he checked out of the play and chucked the ball about 40yards downfield. LMAO
He came to the sideline and Saban was about to blow a gasket.
