LNBS: Players With Extra Motivation For 2014
This upcoming year should provide lots of motivation for a good deal of Chiefs players due to contract details.
Lots of the guaranteed money runs out of the contracts for a lot of our players after 2014. For example, here is the cap savings of cutting these guys after 2014 Sean Smith 5.5 Chase 3.8 Avery 3.5 Bowe 5 DJ 5.2 Flowers 7.5 Hali 9 Devito 4 That basically equates to each of these guys having a similar amount of motivation as a player on a 1 year contract. I bet a lot of these guys are gonna put in the effort of their lives in 2014. |
DJ will turn 32 next season, Hali turns 31...Bowe turns 30...add another year to each of them and one can see that the time for these guys needs to be right now.
I really hope they make some moves this offseason to get us over the hump so we can get thee guys some Jewelry. |

I think DJ realistically can play at a high level for another couple of years. We need to find his replacement though. Nico isn't that.
Bowe is definitely in a perform or be gone year. I wouldn't be surprised to see Maclin brought in on a 1 year deal. Next offseason will be the choice of which WR to keep. Daniel could be gone this offseason if Reid has confidence in Bray. If not....then he'll stick around for another season in case Smith goes down. |

so they have a bailout plan in case next year goes to shit. they can fire Sutton and cut half the team, start fresh with some real talent.

With next year's brutal schedule, a few injuries that always occur, and the older players, I doubt we see the playoffs. I think we finish between 7-9 and 9-7 If we make the playoffs next year I will be positively surprised and then get to see if we break the junx after 21 years. :banghead: |

Also, as much as I like Flowers, he is getting paid way too much money for the actual performance on the field. :shake: |

Why do any players need extra motivation?
