By Josh Levs, CNN updated 12:57 PM EST, Wed January 22, 2014 The university in Norman, Oklahoma, reports a shooting on campus Students are told to shelter in place The school says to avoid Gould Hall, which houses the College of Architecture (CNN) -- The University of Oklahoma in Norman reported a shooting on campus Wednesday. "Avoid Gould Hall. Seek immediate shelter in place," the school said on Twitter and on its website. Fifteen minutes later, the school tweeted, "No new info at this time. Remain sheltered in place." Gould Hall houses the university's College of Architecture. Major Bruce Chan of campus police told CNN there was a report of shots fired in that area of campus, and that university as well as local police were responding. It was not immediately known whether anyone has been wounded. The incident took place at around 11:20 a.m. local time (12:20 p.m. ET), while classes were in session. Students and faculty were alerted via text. On Tuesday, a gunman shot and killed a man at Purdue University in Indiana. CNN's Sara Pratley contributed to this report. |
