Reaction to Marcus smart shoving a fan
Http://m.espn.go.com/ncb/story?storyId=10426105
Just curious... If the fan called Smart a racial slur, was he justified for shoving the fan. I think its an interesting debate about where the line should be drawn for fans to get away with jawing at players. Let's first see if there's any truth to this. My personal opinion is that sports should have leeway for fan behavior, but there's a line that fans too often cross. |
Smart is a stupid N word. No one denys it.

According to the article, this same fan has been a pest to other players as well for some years ago.

If you have the gall to heckle an amateur athlete then you should be prepared for whatever consequences come your way.

Sounds like a made up excuse. He probably just slandered a guy to cover his ass.

Smart crossed the line. No matter what language was used.

Both are in the wrong. Smart should be suspended 3 games. The fan should be banned from attending anymore games.

An old bastard heckling a college athelete is pretty bad, atleast Smart didn't punch him. Should've walked off but im sure everyone on here would be super calm there

There is quite the analysis in the KU thread.
