QB's postseason success
This past year, I have had so many discussions with people seeing Paydaytons numbers in the regular season and calling him the GOAT. I even deal with this from my dad. I prefer to call him Schottenmanning because he just can't get it done in the postseason. Here are some notable postseason records for comparison
Brady 18-8 3 Rings Roethlisberger 10-4 2 Rings Wilson 4-1 1 Ring Brees 6-5 1 Ring Rodgers 5-4 1 Ring Flacco 9-4 1 Ring Eli 8-3 2 Rings Mr overrated 11-12 1 Ring McNabb 9-7 0 Rings Favre 13-11 1 Ring Bradshaw 14-5 4 Rings Montana 16-7 4 Rings S Young 8-6 1 Ring Aikman 11-4 3 Rings Elway 14-7 2 Rings Staubach 11-6 2 Rings Johnny U 6-2 1 Ring Bart Starr 9-1 2 Rings Plunkett 8-2 2 Rings Stabler 7-5 1 Ring Dawson 5-3 1 Ring Simms 6-4 1 Ring 21 QB's that unlike Manning, have a winning record in the postseason. All but McNabb have at least one ring like him.7 have at least 11 wins, but all of them have fewer losses. Look at Brady. Towering over even Montana with his 18-8 record. People try to call Paydayton the greatest ever. But shouldn't the greatest ever have a winning record in the postseason? Manning isn't even the greatest active player. That clearly goes to Brady. He even owns Manning in head to head matchups. Is he HOF? Absolutely. Top 10 ever? Yes. Top 5? Maybe. But certainly not number one. Not with that postseason record. I would rank him below Manning, Elway, Unitas, Brady for sure. So that is 5 at best. Just curious where the rest of you rank him? |
This debate has never been discuused here before.

Yeah I know it has milkman. But I get sick of arguing with the Manning lovers. I wanted some discussion with some more objective people. I know I won't find that here, but it can;t be any worse than the slurp slurp I constantly hear when I hear about Manning.

Based on those numbers, Terry Bradshaw is the greatest QB in NFL history.

Wins and losses are team stats

However, I've argued that Bradshaw is highly underrated. |

However, when you think about QBs that you would want under center when the game is on the line against outstanding defenses in the playoffs, is Peyton Manning at the top of that list? |
Wait, there's more than ONE game after the regular season???!!!

I'm saying using win an losses to justify qb play is asinine |

Looks like he's played more playoff games than most of the guys on that list. So naturally the more games you play, your going to lose a few more.
At least he puts his teams in position nearly every year of his career. I do agree that he does choke when the chips are down and the stakes are at their highest. The year he did win a title, he really didn't play all that well in the playoffs. |
Fivehead's legacy is the biggest choker of all time. Sadly, when he pads his regular season stats again next year, casual fans and the media will once again forget all his chokejobs and rush to declare him the GOAT again.

It is funny that he's being torn apart after dragging that defense and that running game to the Super Bowl.
