The free agents we lost.

The Chiefs lost eight starters (plus Quentin Demps) last offseason, and they were signed to over a combined $100 million in new contracts. Holy shit.

We gained several free agents this past season, and I don't know for how much, but I don't think it was for more than a combined $15m (Mays and Walker making up basically all of that).

How've they fared?
  • OT Brandon Albert, Dolphins -- has been excellent on the blind side in Miami
  • DE Tyson Jackson, Falcons -- yeah.
  • OG Jon Asamoah, Falcons -- he's been "okay"
  • OG Geoff Schwartz, Giants -- IR
  • WR Dexter McCluster, Titans -- "hasn't panned out to date," playing only 28% of snaps
  • CB Brandon Flowers, Chargers -- one of Chargers' best defenders, has struggled with injuries
  • S Kendrick Lewis, Texans -- has been considered a generally positive impact on the Texans' secondary, almost always on the field
  • ILB Akeem Jordan, Redskins -- IR
  • S Quentin Demps, Giants -- now their starting FS
  • K Ryan Succop, Titans -- 11/13 with a long of 47 yards

I'm not wrong ALL the time, you jerks.

Schwartz hurts the most I'd say...but he's injured anyway.

high

I guess Flowers was decent but our secondary hasn't been a HUGE issue.

Schwartz got paid $4.5 million this year to do what he does best:

Stand on the sideline.

I don't think he would have been a fiscally responsible signing but he played really well last year for KC

welcome back

Because we are the Chiefs.

Impossible!! According to CP we let a bunch of great players wall and sign big contracts. Our loss!!

ILChief 10-31-2014 05:26 AM

schwartz is the only one that we would be better off with than we are today. Albert possibly, but that would mean Fisher on the right where he struggles, so maybe not. Plus we would have BA's salary.

Red Dawg 10-31-2014 05:52 AM

Only Albert has mattered. Dexter going bye bye was a good thing. He is just not starter material.

DeepSouth 10-31-2014 05:57 AM

Flowers and Succop won't count toward this since they were release but how many comp picks should we get for all those lost players?

bshmerlie 10-31-2014 06:38 AM

The problem is we just didn't have the salary cap room to pay these guys.although I do think we should have kept Albert and Flowers. Giving up a proven OT and our best CB was not gonna make this a better team. Especially considering we have to go up against the Broncos and Chargers three times every year if our goal is to get to the Superbowl.

Love my CHIEFS, but I think they make the World Series before the Super Bowl.

Fisher will come good. But, Richardson and Albert would be much better...
