Anyone ever work at Home Depot?

Starting first night shift in about an hour or so, freight team.

Really nervous, anyone ever work there or still do? It's only part time and just to get some $ on the side.

Why would you be nervous about a job at ****ing Home Depot? Is it your first job?

Watch your cornhole in the plumbing isle

This. Man up. Go in there and do a good job. Lead by example. Become team leader. Become assistant store manager. Become store manager. Become District Manager. Become Regional Vice President. Become President. Become CFO. Become CEO. Retire. Become Venture Capitalist. Play Golf.

See, I just mapped your next 25 years for free. Send IM for my address. I take all major credit cards.

This is also good advice. I would address Sodomy in your tenure as Assistant Store Manager. It will show how much you care about safety and how it affects the bottom line.

They probably busted you for shoplifting and can't go back in there.

Relax. It's not as terrifying as Lowes

There are whole websites dedicated to Home Depot stories. Here's one for you since you will be moving stuff.

I was talking with an associate today at home depot who was just finishing up moving a ton of new appliances to the floor. We talked about how much work it was to move them all and how many there were for the new appliance initiative. He told me that they were supposed to be taken to a storage trailer but that the trailers weren't there yet so a manager told him to put them all on the sales floor. Just as the last appliance had been brought out from receiving.....guess what? The trailers showed up......guess what? All the appliances that had just been moved got moved again.

I assume the first thing they will do in your training will be to teach that if you see a customer make eye contact with you like he may approach you with a question, immediately turn and quickly walk away.

Good point. This seems like a District logistical problem. This will be best addressed during your tenure of District Manager or Regional VP. Redirecting floor planning and truck routes might require a bit more pull.

Right. They certainly seem to walk fast like they are on a mission to not help you.

This is certainly a store manager problem. You are the cultural leadership captain of the store. Get out of your office and kiss some babies.
