3 Round Mock
1. Trae Waynes, CB, Michigan St.- Long with great speed. Legit shutdown corner #1 upside. Experience with press scheme. Gives you options with Sean Smith after '15. I think we lose Hali next year and this will help ease that transition to Dee Ford by solidifying the secondary.
2. Ty Montgomery, WR, Stanford- Another height/weight/speed guy with the ability to get YAC. That is what this offense needs from the WR position. Will give us another returner to rotate in as well. That seemed to work for us last year. Creates some options with Bowe. 3. Clive Walford, TE, Miami- Very good size and adequate speed. Solid all-around TE. Fasano is likely gone and we would be wise to spend another day 2 pick on his replacement. We could use the best TE group in the NFL with Alex Smith at QB. Kelce/Walford/Harris  3. Tre Jackson, OG, Florida St.- Was considered a first round prospect before the season and would be a great value here. I see Dorsey waiting till this pick to take an offensive lineman. Allen and him will create competition and improve our OG spots. Not ready to go into day 3, but I'd be looking at run stuffers, depth at nickel, oline depth, and another young QB to compete at camp with Bray and Murray. |
That's an interesting choice, and one I wouldn't be terribly crazy about.
At this point, Sean Smith deserves an extension after next year, and Phillip Gaines looks like a starter. Drafting Wayne means we won't keep Smith, but hey, I like Waynes so who knows. That would likely give us a starting duo of Gaines and Waynes in 2016, too, which would be fun to say. "No pain, no Gaines and Waynes"? |

Not a bad mock at all. 3 things:
1. Agree with CB but not rd 1. I think we'll get another quality guy in rd 3 like Wayne Lyons. 2. I want us to keep building this front 7. I would love either of the FSU DL rd 1. If Bailey or Poe get hurt we're ****ed. Plus we'd have a great rotation. 3. Like WR. Get a guy rd 2 with speed and hands. We don't have that right now and it limits us. |
