Retrospective and looking forward.
I can't help but think of the fixed Cardinals game, or the poor play calling against the 49ers, or the inexplicable losses to Tennessee and Oakland where we did not look prepared.
We pounded Seattle. We pounded New England. We pounded a Rams team that made others look silly. The potential of the 2014 Chiefs will never be realized. I hope we can sign Houston and Poe to long term deals, get WR and OL help, and move forward with these learning lessons. I think our window is still open. See you in August. Let's go ROYALS!!! |

Has Dee Ford shown enough? I don't think so. I think we try and bring Hali back. His motor alone should give him a few more really good years.

OldSchool deserves to be Black Bob'd for his idiotic comments about Justin Houston during the preseason.

Retrospective:
The loss to Oakland sealed the Chiefs' fate. It should have been an easy win, then they'd be in the playoffs now having "controlled their own destiny." They didn't miss the playoffs due to Jacksonville and Cleveland losing. Falling bass ackwards into the playoffs is nothing to get excited about. The receivers were a non-factor in the games. Sure, another 6 inches and Bowe would have had a TD for the FIRST to a WR all season. Biiiiiiiiig deal. Who cares how many first downs WRs caught. The combined receiver corp scored ZERO points all season. That is another stain on the franchise that won't wash away. The offensive line was terrible. Some plays were fine, but to say overall they were bad is not strong enough. The QB play, playcalling, and coaching many times led to losses. It's a good thing the season is now over. I don't mean since it would be embarrassing to be one and done again in the playoffs, either. We've been there and done that more than once. If the Chiefs had made the post-season, then the spin would be on to polish the turd and keep things going as much the same as possible. Now, maybe, just maybe, some more changes can be made since a 9-7 season is nothing to boast about. And that is what I hope for looking ahead to 2015. What changes will be made? Who will be back? Who will be signed in free-agency? And who will they (screw up) and draft? The upcoming season doesn't have me feeling too excited and longing for a quick passing of time to next fall. |
There was some shitty officiating in the Cardinals game but I don't necessarily believe that it was fixed. The 49ers game, maybe. :shake:
But in the end the Chiefs had their chances. They controlled their own destiny and they failed. |

And yeah, the Chiefs really screwed the pooch in the Titans and Raiders games. :shake:
This team was looking pretty damn good after that Seattle win. Then the bottom fell out. :deevee: |

About what you'd expect in year 2 of the new regime. Considering last year was the aberration to win what they did.
9-7 against a tough schedule while young players developed nicely. Just draft well, get a few free agents, sign Houston, draft Jameis Winston and let's improve |
We should let Houston walk. He's not worth top pass rusher money. *idiot chief fans*
