YouTube 360 Video Demo
 

Google recently released support for 360 video in YouTube. I have no idea what practical purposes there will be for it, but it's interesting (and a bit creepy) technology.

If you're using Chrome, click and drag your mouse around in the video. If you're in the YouTube app on Android (just search for "Time Couch"), you can pan around by moving your phone around.

guess I don't see the point of this at all.

I could see it being a cool novelty for stuff like action videos. I have trouble believing it will become really popular, but you never know.

U2 will most likely use it in their next concert tour.

It's gotta be for virtual reality. You watch a movie, and focus on what you please etc.

Here's a live action trailer released today for Battlefield Hardline that films a heist with a 360 camera from the POV of the loot bag.

Use your arrows or even better watch it on your phone and turn it around to look around.
