Chiefs edging closer to another No. 1 overall draft pick
http://espn.go.com/blog/kansas-city-...all-draft-pick
It doesn't take a genius to realize this season is quickly getting away from the Kansas City Chiefs, who have lost four straight games and at 1-4 are on the bottom of the AFC West. It does take people of above average intelligence to figure out their chances for getting the No. 1 overall pick in next year's draft. Fortunately, the fine folks at ESPN Analytics fit into that category. They've crunched the numbers on what remains of the season for the Chiefs and the rest of the NFL teams and determined Kansas City will likely have the 12th pick in the draft. For those who aren't happy with that number, take hope. The Chiefs were projected to have the 15th pick, according to ESPN Analytics, before last week's loss to the Chicago Bears. So there's plenty of time for them to continue to slide. The Chiefs have a 2.2 percent chance to get the No. 1 overall pick, a 17 percent chance to pick in the top five and a 43 percent chance of selecting in the top 10. As of now, the Chiefs would pick somewhere in the top seven. They are one of six teams with a 1-4 record. The only team that's worse is the 0-5 Detroit Lions. The Lions would have the No. 1 overall pick as of now. But the Chiefs play against the Lions on Nov. 1 in London, so a (well-timed?) loss for the Chiefs that day can do wonders for their draft status. ESPN Analytics, by the way, gives the Chiefs a 41 percent chance of winning Sunday's game against the Vikings in Minneapolis. |
1st comment pretty much say's it all
Tyler Galloway · Aurora So they can draft another lineman bust. |
Analysts say the 2016 draft class is shaping up to be the second-worst in history, behind only the 2013 draft.
"Right now," said one NFL scout, "the top pick would probably be Chris Fitzpatrick, the long-snapper from Northwestern." |

Nah, we'll just swap 1st round picks with San Fran and pick up Kappernick and a conditional 5th rounder.
:bolt: |
I just found one top analysts draft board for 2016.
1. Glenn Gronkowski FB 1 Kansas State rJr 6-2 234 2. Cody Whitehair OG 2 Kansas State rSr 6-4 309 3. Roberto Aguayo K 1 Florida State rJr 6-1 205 4. Dan Voltz C 1 Wisconsin rJr 6-3 312 5. Nathan Theus LS 1 Georgia rSr 6-3 238 All good players, though, the real problem is, with three being redshirt juniors who might not declare, it would really lower the overall possibilities of getting a true impact player in the top five in the 2016 NFL Draft. |

Connor Cook come on down....

nah
we'll manage to go 6-10 and **** ourselves, again but hey, maybe we'll draft a really good run-stopping LB'er! |
I can't wait to pick up that all-important LTotf only two years after making the same mistake then taking a WR who will struggle to put up 300 yards
|
I predict us picking between 5th and 8th.
