I have a job interview tomorrow - question regarding facial hair

Is it appropriate to keep facial hair for a job interview?

I keep my beard trimmed and clean - doesn't look like a scraggly mess. I'm young, but look like I'm about 12 years old clean shaven.

Any input appreciated.

Might help to know the occupation. Garbage man needs scraggly beard.

If you think looking young will have an adverse effect on getting the job, don't shave.

Have to know what the job is... But as a general rule of thumb it's better to be clean shaven.

Yeah, that's the key. You want facial hair if you're applying for Seal Team 6, and you want to look young if you're applying to be Jared Fogle's personal assistant.

I'd shave, then get a couple of neck tattoos. http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/...83_634x362.jpg

Its not as big a deal as it used to be if its neat and trim, but if its a fairly conservative office, then when in doubt its best to shave and regrow it after you get the job.

Just make sure it's trimmed and not unkempt.

I think the key is to be well groomed. Beards aren't as much of a stigma as in the past as long as it is well kept. I went to my interview for a IT job I currently have with a beard. To my surprise one of the interviewers had a beard too. I suppose it would also help to know what you are interviewing for. Do you have any information for the type of environment they have at this place of employment?

Beards are fine these days if trimmed.

As long as it doesn't look like pube hair you should be good.

IT is different, don't most IT departments have a beard quota? If IT had less than 25% beards it wouldn't feel right.
