Dolphins’ Branden Albert Selling South Florida Home With Shoe Closet

https://www.yahoo.com/homes/news/dol...130006885.html

Deep within Branden Albert’s Davie, FL, home is a gem of a room: a shoe closet with enough space for 250 pairs of high-priced kicks. Neatly arranged on custom wood shelving as well as on floating shelves flanking a mirror are high-top sneakers and other athletic shoes, a veritable shoe salon, belonging to the Miami Dolphins‘ offensive tackle.

(FYI: The framed jerseys on the wall and Albert’s shoes aren’t included in the sale. Keep dreaming.)

The Pro Bowler put the five-bedroom contemporary home—which measures 5,728 square feet—on the market for $1.95 million. Kimberly Knausz is the listing agent.

Newly renovated, the 10-year-old property is one of only three lakeview lots in this community about 30 minutes north of Miami.

The elegant living room features a finely detailed staircase. The master bathroom has a soaking tub and a chandelier. The chef’s kitchen has an open layout and features an island, custom cabinetry, and an oversize fridge.

A whopping $350,000 was spent jazzing up the backyard with a pool, Tiki hut, outdoor kitchen, lazy river, spa with jets (hot and cold), and a swim-up bar. Other top-of-the-line amenities that come with this manse that’s well-suited for a pro athlete are a retro-style barbershop (to keep your cut looking oh-so-fresh) and a home theater (cue Oscar party 2017!).

As being a not-Floridian, what's wrong with Davie? Is it the St. Joseph to Kansas City (sorry Nzoner and 'Penz)?

And I don't care WHERE that backyard is set up. That is sick and I would love to have one like it.

Can't imagine why these guys end up broke.

Way to blow your money.

The only house these guys should spend real money on is one back home where they will live the rest of their lives. Fred Jackson (Bills Seahawks) is building in my neighborhood. I'm interestged to see what he ends up doing. Thus far his little compound only has homes for his in laws and parents.

Nearly $10 Million dollars as a franchise tagged player.

$26 Million guaranteed from Miami + Salary

+ Whatever the **** he got in his rookie contract (back when they were hella inflated)....

......And he bought a sub $2 Million dollar home, a splash in the pan for the income he's made.

I'd hardly call that over spending.

It's a real estate investment and not an extravagant one at that. I don't know the market there but it's not like he bought 9 cars that depreciated the minute he drove them off the lot.

With agent fees, taxing etc, those numbers shrink.

Add to the fact that a house like that isnt gonna be cheap to keep, maintain, etc.

I think cats hold value, what with the 9 lives and all.

Agent fees cannot exceed 3% and there are no state taxes in Florida.

Albert's earned in excess of $35 million in his career to date, so a $2 million dollar home is quite modest in comparison.

Iirc, they make up with that in real estate taxes.

Also, aren't players taxed based on where the game was played? So 8 home state games, then 8 taxed game checks where they play?

ThaVirus 03-28-2016 11:19 AM

Beautiful home.
