NFL will stream TNF on Twitter

Roger Goodell@nflcommish-This fall Thursday Night Football will be streamed live @twitter so fans will see more of this.

Idk how I feel about this..

loochy 04-05-2016 10:22 AM

Streamed as in embed a live video feed?

Or streamed as in play by play tweets?

EDIT: Ok, it's video and it's free. I think this is pretty awesome since I don't have NFL network or whatever station Thursday night is on now.

This angers me greatly

BleedingRed 04-05-2016 10:49 AM

This is the future of entertainment

Shaid 04-05-2016 11:01 AM

Sweet, although I think it may lead to a pay to watch through twitter situation at some point.

I want to know how much Twitter dished out

ChiliConCarnage 04-05-2016 12:03 PM

That.. seems like an odd combination. Is it going to pop up in your timeline or something?

Looks like about $1 million per game:

The Twitter deal, Re/Code reports, is worth less than $10 million for the entire 10-game package.

Still won't watch it. I'll watch the Chiefs on TV for their Thursday game and I couldn't care less about the rest of them.

Actually, I think it will be a terrific combination. Good deal for both sides. I hate twitter. But I actually think twitter is pretty cool for live events.

Yeah, that seems like one of the legit uses for Twitter

DaFace 04-05-2016 03:54 PM

I'm skeptical of a company with no experience streaming live media suddenly streaming one of the most popular events there is, but I guess we'll see how it works out.

You don't have CBS or NBC?

:p

The first 8-10 Thursday night games are shared between CBS & NBC beginning this season.

The final 6-8 will be aired on the NFL Network.
