How to be respectful of Thanksgiving when visiting US

Follow up to my previous Post about my upcoming holiday to the Florida. Any advice for what to do on Thanksgiving? Any Family activities? Or shall I just do a big Turkey Dinner? Will all the shops and theme Parks be closed?

Thanks

Most things will be closed, especially the smaller businesses. OR some may be closed early and will open later in the day. Some stores will be open to take advantage of crazy shoppers, but for the most part everything is very slow. It's the biggest holiday in the U.S. There really isn't anything to "respect". It's just a day to relax, eat, and be with your family and friends in whatever way you see fit.

Overeat, watch football, sleep, and overeat again. Tell the wife not to go shopping on Friday morning.

Attend a anti Trump rally just for laughs

Disney and Universal will be open but they are insanely busy. Chinese buffets will be open along with Casinos and movie theaters.

You must make a mashed potato boat, fill it with corn, drown it in gravy, and then dip your turkey into that. That's pretty much the only rule.

The only other rule is cranberry sauce, sweet potato casserole/pumpkin pie, and stuffing/dressing must accompany the feast boat.

I like to enjoy some pie on Thanksgiving, which makes it like any other day except that I actually have a reasonable shot on Thanksgiving.

Forget everything else and just enjoy being with friends and family.

Utilize the occasion to finally get to the bottom of race relations in America.

A lot of places will be closed a good portion of Thursday at the very least if not closed outright. 24/7 chain diners will be a good bet for what would be actually taking customers that day and they won't be staffed with the happiest of servers necessarily.

You've picked an odd time to the visit the USA, OP.
