Jeff Fisher ... how does he have a job?

Ok, so with the loss yesterday - Fisher has now tied Landry for 2nd most career losses as a coach. 162 ... and Fisher did that in 82 FEWER games than Landry.

Fisher has coached for 22 years - 173 wins / 162 losses / 1 tie

22 seasons and only 6 (six) with a finish above .500.

1999-2003 was his greatest run with 32% of his career wins in that 5 year window. And, 4 of his 6 years above .500 in that timeframe. 50% of his seasons have ended with 7 or fewer wins.

Fisher hasn't been above .500 since 2008 ... honestly, how is he still a head coach in the NFL?

I have no idea but it blows my mind. Plus he seems like such a huge unlikable jackass.

Mr. Plow 11-21-2016 09:12 AM

My God that's a horrible record.

KC_Lee 11-21-2016 09:13 AM

The most overrated coach in the entire entity of football at any level.

That's what going to a super bowl can do

Abba-Dabba 11-21-2016 09:22 AM

Because there are a lot of dumb ****s that believe he is a good coach. Let's not forget there were a few people here that wanted to bring him in to coach the Chiefs.

That was a loooonnnnnngggg time ago. There's a whole generation of kids that have been born and recently voted for POTUS since that happened.

Yes, you are correct.

Shooting for the all-time equivalent of 7-9.

Mile High Mania 11-21-2016 09:38 AM

It's hard to fathom that he is 11th on the all-time wins list as a HC... but, that happens when you've been around for 22 years.

He's averaging 7.8 wins per year overall.

You take out his 6 seasons of 10+ wins, he's averaging 6.3 wins per season and his overall record is 101-128. That's horrible.

Yeah, the funny part is how you can play with the stats of coaches around him and damn near fit any argument you care to make. Which is why sports debates get crazy at times.

Reid is 5 wins away from Fisher at this point... less time, but knocking on the door of top 10 all time.

I think he's worn out his welcome in LA, but in his defense, he stuck out an entire rebuild in Tennessee where they had a disastrous cap situation, then was force fed Vince Young.

Probably a reason they dislike the current regime. They probably wanted him to bring Steve McNair along with him.
