Fixing an LG gas dryer
Dryer went out a week ago. Still turns, blows and everything except getting hot.
I watched a YouTube video and thought it was going to be the heating element, but when I removed that part, it doesn't have a visably sign of being bad, like the one in the video did... Anybody here know what else to look for? I'm going to go get an ohm meter to check the thermostat, but not sure what else to check and any help would be appreciated. |
Gas dryer. I would check the coils. common part to got out!

What does the left guard have to do with your dryer, and why does he have gas?
|
I will start with I know nothing about LG but on kenmores there are 2 solenoids very easy to get to in back run about 30 bucks that will keep the igniter from doing its thing on a gas dryer. everything will run as normal except it wont light.

Does a gas dryer even have an element? I would think it has a burner of some sort, like every other gas appliance.
Should be some kind of ignitor on it |
Are you getting any heat at all?
|
I don't know crap about gas dryers, only replaced heating elements and drum belts in electric.

Draft a quarterback.

Even if the HSI (hot surface igniter) doesn't looked cracked it still might be bad.
You can check it with a multimeter, or just plug the wires into an outlet lol What you describe sounds like the igniter to me, or no gas |
Oh hell, he's calling the ignitor the element. And apparently I don't know how to spell ignitor.
But yeah, just replace the ****er. I'd be surprised if it's even $20. |
