Unreal Estate Game: North Dakota

Five homes. You may assume that they all come with plug-in heaters for your engine block.

Came down to Fargo, Grand Forks or Fairmohnt for me.

I think I'd go Fargo. That living room setup is the stuff I dream about.

Fargo - On the outside, this is just a generic mcmansion, and I thought it was going to be meh. But I have to say, the interior is really great. Nice design, nice fixtures, and great aesthetics. The location isn't very good in terms of walkability, but walkers probably get eaten by polar bears anyway. This house really works.

Grand Forks - This is kind of the reverse of the Fargo house. It's great on the outside. The inside is decent but not spectacular, and those wood floors bother me for some reason. Too variegated. It's probably got the best location of all the houses in terms of access to services, but it's still not great so I'll take Fargo over it by a nose.

Christine - Is that ... is that an eagle's nest with chicks in Photo 9? This house is really interesting, in no small part because it's surrounded on three sides by Minnesota. If Minnesota and North Dakota ever go to war, this place is going to be like Corregidor or Fort Sumter. It's a nice house, but a little too western for my tastes, and it's not in a walkable place. But seriously, look at it on the map. It has the same river flowing on the north side of the house and the south side of the house. That's bizarre.

Minot - What's the deal with Minot? This house is half the size of the others. Why is Minot so expensive? For the most part, this is just a typical home, and I cringe a bit at the pit bull colored kitchen cabinets. I'd probably use the understair hideaway, though. This house is in the middle of nowhere, so you'd have to dogsled everywhere.

Fairmount - I'll be honest with you. I really don't like Spanish architecture. Combine a lot of wrought iron with a remote location and I don't need to live here.

Yeah, that Fargo house is a hidden gem on the inside. I'm a big fan of the interior.

Christine. (accidentally voted Fairmount) It might be the only place in NoDak with trees! :D

Grand Forks, I like that design

I like the Minot, Fargo, and Grand Forks houses, but you couldn't give me enough nice shit to deal with North Dakota winters (well, it would have to be more than just a sweet ass house for me to do it). 50 thou, cousin.

Heh, I've still got a book full of nothing but North Dakota jokes from when I lived in Montana

Making fun of North Dakotans is apparently a thing up there

Kid 1 has decided on NDSU Fargo for school. Like the campus. Needs a warmer coat.
