5th Seed vs. 2nd Seed...the paths to the Super Bowl.
 

Path 1: We get the 2nd seed, we would have a bye and then a home game vs. Steelers (barring a Matt Moore miracle). Should we win that, we go to the AFC championship game in New England or possibly play Oakland at home if Tom Brady were to fall into an abyss or something.

Path 2: We get the 5th seed, basically the same as last year, we would play the back-up QB lead (Tom Savage) Texans in Houston, followed by another trip to New England (again, barring a Matt Moore miracle in Pittsburgh). A win there and we would either play @ Pitt or @ Oakland in the AFC championship game.

As noted, if Matt Moore and the Dolphins pull a 24kt horseshoe out of their asses and somehow knock off Pitt, we would definitely want the 2nd seed because we would play the winner of Houston v. Oakland at home. Even in this scenario, the 5th seed isn't too bad because we would play Oakland in Oakland after beating Houston.

So those are the scenarios. Obviously the Dolphins winning would be best, but I think we can all agree that is not a likely outcome. All of this being said, as I swallow back the puke in my mouth....go Broncos.

However MIA plays I'd like to face the following in the playoffs (in this order):

- Houston
- Oakland
- Miami
- New England
- Pittsburgh

As long as we don't screw things up we'll either host Pittsburgh or Miami or go to Houston.

Obviously I negated including us getting the 6th seed, but if it were to happen, it would be @Pitt, then @New England, then @ the winner of Oakland, Miami, Houston. In the words of Michael Scott...No NOOO NOOOO GOD NOOO!!!

Just figures we pissed away The 2 seed, because Chiefs...

Well the Chiefs path would be hard fought underdog wins over the Steelers then Patriots and then we lose at Oakland to McGloin.

Offering up some stray dogs for satanic rituals if anyone knows how to curse Oakland for the weekend.. and Pitt and new England for good measure..
