Berry to be franchised, Poe to walk: per 810
810 reporting from outside sources. Not confirmed by Chiefs.

aLLLLRIGHTY THEN !

Poe was not playing NT as often as people think. He lines up as a DE in the nickel defense, which we play more than half the time.
Howard and a draft pick should be fine. |

right decision, we got the best years out of Poe and a lot of mileage. Sutton rode him like a stud horse if you look at snap counts. Wish him the best, will cheer for him if he goes to the NFC
Bailey has actually been our best run defender on the DL the past 2-3 years. One could easily argue that his return is needed more than Poe's when you lack at how the run defense performed.
Big man with a back injury is hard to justify locking down with an appropriately-sized contract.
The Colts will overpay for Poe.
Yeah but can we sign Berry or we losing him or having a nasty hold out
Sucks to see Poe go but it is the smart decision. The whole Berry situation is going to get very interesting.
There are a lot of teams out there that would gladly take Jones/Bailey/Howard over what they have currently. I would say every team in the AFC West would other than maybe SD with Bosa and their new 4-3.
They just need to give Berry his 64/5 and be done with it. Easy call. |
Hate to see Poe go, but he hasnt been the same lately
My guess is we franchise Berry for this year, he holds out late just like he did this year, and we start moving away from him over the season. He walks in free agency next year.
I like the guy and think he's absolutely one of our most important players TODAY, but I'm getting tired of guys getting paid big money in situations like this and regretting it 2 years down the road when they're not producing. |
not really shocking. Hate to see Poe go but I think he's gonna get a bigger contract than we'd be comfortable signing.
Figured as much, just get the deal done with Berry so it isn't a distraction.
