Chiefs decline to renew contracts of WR Kenny Cook, FB Trey Millard
By: Wesley Roesch | 35 minutes ago The Kansas City Chiefs have declined to renew the contracts of receiver Kenny Cook and fullback Trey Millard, per Terez Paylor of the Kansas City Star. The #Chiefs declined to renew the contracts of two ERFA's: WR Kenny Cook and FB Trey Millard — Terez A. Paylor (@TerezPaylor) March 9, 2017 Both Cook and Millard were set to become exclusive-rights free agents, which means the Chiefs had the option to hit them with a one-year tender. Had Kansas City done that, the player would either have to sign that tender (usually for league minimum salary) or sit out the season. Since the Chiefs did not renew their contracts, both Cook and Millard will become unrestricted free agents, so they’ll be free to sign with any team. Millard, 25, was taken by the San Francisco 49ers in the seventh round of the 2014 draft but never made the team. Millard signed a reserve/future deal with Kansas City in 2016 but spent the entire season on injured reserve after tearing his ACL. Cook, 24, has jumped around on the Chiefs’ practice squad since 2015 but also never made the team. With limited roster spaces and a huge projected draft class coming in, it looks like the Chiefs simply didn’t have room to bring these guys back. Here’s to hoping they find a gig elsewhere. |
Gotta make room for the new camp fodder.

Figures- I just got my Cook and Millard Chief's jerseys in the mail today.
That is $10.00 down the drain. Maybe they can open a bar and grill together. |
