The Dorsey story
"I notified John that we would not be extending his contract beyond the 2017 season, and after consideration, we felt it was in his best interests and the best interests of the team to part ways now," Chiefs Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt said in a statement. "This decision, while a difficult one, allows John to pursue other opportunities as we continue our preparations for the upcoming season and the seasons to come."
i.e. Both Andy and John had contracts expiring and Andy signed what is essentially a long term contract considering his age, however, John would not commit to the same due to the fact that he is is leaving for Green Bay next year. Clark realized that putting a new GM and regime in place now for next years draft was his only choice. Like it or not he is 100% correct. Hopefully our new GM can get and keep us out of cap hell. |

This sucks.
KC Chiefs, always the bridesmaid, never the bride |

Andy will have the same or more personnel power he has had since he and John teamed up and the next GM will have one main focus... THE CAP |

Well, hopefully Dorsey started his own tree right here. I mean all the people around him watched him work and it had to rub off.

- Everyone below John is still in place - Our staff does an amazing job of finding and vetting GEMS (yes, Tyreek is a GEM as is our future franshise QB) _ Andy has had a LOT more say than anyone realizes on who we have been drafting ALL IS WELL |
I will miss all of those playoff wins he got us.

Andy being the GM in Philly is the single reason he isn't there anymore.

John was NOT good at cap friendly contracts and look where we are. The Maclin fiasco was a cap hit due to the horrific contract we initially signed him to. |
