Looking to build my own computer over the next couple of months

I am looking to build my own computer tower. I think I can build one cheaper and better than I can buy one. I am not a hard core gamer but I do play World of Tanks, LoL and my grandson plays Minecraft.
It doesn't have to be "top of the line" but I want it to be very good.
Where have or do you all get your parts from that is reasonable?
Where would you start your build, parts/pieces wise? What would be the last part/piece?

Would you go with Windows 10 or Windows 7 Pro?

Any thoughts would be appreciated. It has been 15 years since I last built a computer tower.

Amazon, Newegg, B&H, Microcenter (if you live near one).

Windows 10. If you are going with Windows then there is no point in buying anything but 10, imo. Every version of Windows that hasn't already been completely decommissioned and isn't Windows 10 will be in 2020. Which means that Windows 10 will be the only version that will receive new security updates.

Beyond that you need to figure out a budget because there's nothing particularly demanding from those games you listed.

I agree with all this. For every part you need just compare prices between Amazon, Newegg and B&H. Its highly unlikely anyone else will have it cheaper. Cant comment on Microcenter, never been in one.
