First thing I do if in Veach:

I actually re-sign Logan who's played ok but gets double teamed alot.

I sign Donkey Kong Suh to play end and bring some attitude and toughness.

Don't resign Allen Bailey and trade Alex Smith for a third. Don't bring back DJ, Hali, Akeen Hunt or Ford.

Release Phillip Gaines and Terrance Mitchell.

Sign: Maurice Claiborne, Teddy Bridgwater to be the #2, Rex Burkhead as a legit #2/ 3rd down back draft Chris Jones in round 3, and sign Tim Jerigan.

Tim Jerigan recently signed an extension with the Eagles I believe

^ if those were Veach's ideas I'd tell him to put the Madden controller down, go to bed, and head off to work in the real world the next morning.

2. Cut Derrick Johnson - $8 million cap space gained
3. Cut Tamba Hali - $8 million cap space gained
4. Cut Dee Ford - $8.7 million cap space gained
5. Cut Demetrius Harris - $2 million cap space gained

After cuts, our cap space sits at $42 million.

Sign the following FAs.

ILB, Zach Brown
OLB/DE, Barkevious Mingo
NT, Bennie Logan (resign)
CB, Morris Claiborne

I don't see the appeal with giving Logan an extension. Spend a day 3 pick on a fatty and get similar production for a tenth of the cost.

We need a real OLB. We needed one last year. Didn't get one. We needed one this year. Didn't get one.

Hali/Ford is an AIDS fest, and in my opinion, it's a bigger problem than no ILBs. Johnson will be gone after this year. We can survive on mediocre replacements like KPL, Ragland, and Ramik Wilson. But I'm sick of having no pass rush.

Of course, that also depends on our idiot defensive coordinator actually using the pass rushers he's got.
