Was at the game today (in St. Louis on business trip). Fun game to watch. As bad as we are this year, it was nice to take 2 of 3 from the arrogant Cards fans. They were awful quiet leaving the ballpark. (Well, those that were left. Most left in top of 10th)
BTW, the catch by Alex Gordon in the 7th was AMAZING! The TV and video replays don’t do it justice. The ball was absolutely smoked off the bat (you could audibly hear the crack as he barreled it) and it was tailing away from Gordon. You have to get in position amd time your jump perfectly to lay out for it or there’s no way in hell you catch that. Might be one of the better defensive plays of his career (and thats saying something). Just an amazing, amazing play that was a privilege to see (was sitting on left field side) in person. |
