Best team in Chiefs history?
 
Simple Rating System (SRS) is a calculation determining how good a team is, using (1) margin of victory and (2) strength of schedule. A margin of 5/game with an SOS of -0.5 results in an SRS of 4.5.


The Chiefs right now hold the #1 SRS and it's not even close: 12.3, Rams 9.5, Saints 8.3, Pitt 7.5. Chiefs have finished with the #1 SRS in their Leafue only ONE TIME in 59 years. When was it?


(Note: 1969-1969 we had 10 AFL teams, 1970-1995 about 26 post merger, and 1995-on 32 teams)

It may well be. We are playing about an avg SOS so we are almost 2 TD better than the avg team. That's insane.


Our sole League best team was only 8.4 SRS. (We had a couple other teams higher than that but none who were best in the League)

The 1969 team was a wild card team if I remember right.

I'm going 1966. They were the top team in the AFL that year.

1969 team was Wild Card because Stram sat Dawson in the regular season finale against Oakland to keep him healthy for the playoffs.
