what does this mean for us?

JakeF 12-11-2018 04:37 PM

There has been a 40 percent increase in the salary cap since the 2014 season ($133 million) and it would be the sixth consecutive year the cap is projected to climb more than $10 million per club year over year.

Not much, everyone gets the same increase so it's all relative.

No.

It means the Chiefs will have the coin to sign a Landon Collins or an Earl Thomas.

Everyone else will have more coin to sign them too. Their teams will have more coin to keep them. The total cap number is always relative, it's about what teams choose to do with it.

Really tough tough decisions coming.

I think signing tyreek is a given.
I think we will lose maybe Conley, Bailey, harris, morse maybe even Nelson
Butker will get paid. Losing kareem puts us in a weird spot with ware. Ford... Who knows.

Thats just to keep the current roster together. The good news is we get huge relief if we restructure houston

Right now, overthecap.com has the projected salary cap at $190 million. With that being factored in, we are sitting at $40 million in cap space for 2019.

Tyreek is a must this offseason. Absolute must. Pay him 20 mil a year. He’s earned it. Re sign Bailey for cheap. Maybe 3-4 mil a year. Ford franchise him. And sign a damn safety

I'd keep Tyreek and Morse if he's cheapish due to injury.

The rest, nah have a good career.

Maybe Harris cause he'll not be too expensive.

Nelson probably gets paid even though he shouldn't

Harris can hit the road, tired of his dumb stuff
Conley how much is an average #3 or #4 possession wr worth?
Bailey still has some gas in the tank but not 8 million worth.
Ford is a huge question mark

I hope Houston signs a deal like Suggs. Dude already got the big bag. Stay a little longer and win with Mahomes.

You're gonna have to extend Houston to get his number down.

I think he's still really good but i'm not sure he'd do that.

MAHOMO 4 LIFE! 12-11-2018 04:53 PM

Houston is still worth 10 mil a year. Not 20

I don't imagine that Houston would have a problem signing an extension. Extending Houston doesn't reduce his pay it just spreads out the cap hit. An extension will also likely force the Chiefs to keep him longer due to the cap. I'm not sure keeping Houston longer is a good thing, his knees are already slowing him down.

I don't think Houston will take any kind of pay cut. He will tell the Chiefs to pay him or cut him.
