Perspective

The first thread I ever started was after the Patriots game and had the same title. This loss is infinitely more painful and I feel physically ill, but:

1/ We still control our own destiny.
2/ The entire mood on CP would be different had we gotten one simple stop on that last drive.
3/ We almost lost to the Ravens last week and pulled that out of nowhere. I viewed that as a gutsy win and still do. My guess is many of you now view that as a fluke-ish win simply because we lost by 1pt today.
4/ We still have Mahomes and he's still 23 and I'd rather be the Chiefs than any other team in the AFC heading into the playoffs.
5/ I won't let our history in prior years overwhelm me right now. I think things are different and the future can prove me wrong in the playoffs.
6/ We're 11-3. Pretty sure no one expected us to be here at this point in the season.
7/ Mahomes.

Water is wet and this defense is what we thought it was. I want to punch all the people in the face who were happy we didn't give up a draft pick or two to pick up some defensive help, and I'm not sure why Berry wasn't on the field the entire second half (maybe the telecast had an explanation?). But I'm not going to melt down as if this were a playoff game that completely destroyed any hope of our winning a Super Bowl this season.

I still believe this team is different.

Perspective: This defense just saved me at least $500 on a ticket to the AFC Championship Game.

Perspective- the NFL is going to gift dickface Rivers a SB and they don't care if everyone knows that games are rigged.

Reerun_KC 12-13-2018 11:35 PM

Chsrgers are in the driver seat.

Sassy Squatch 12-13-2018 11:36 PM

Mahomes is the only thing different this year. It's been proven 3 times this year that it's most likely not enough.

Why Not? 12-13-2018 11:36 PM

1. Sure, but we go to a traditionally hostile place to play against a team that absolutely has the offensive scheme best suited to beat us

2. NFL. Most games between decent or better teams can be explained with the same logic you used on this point.

3. Agreed

4. Yes, but I'll tell you who we also still have....Fat Andy

5. Sure

6. Yes but expectations have changed

7. Indeed

Our entire history from the 1971 triple OT, to Szott's holding call on Okoye's run into FG range, to Lin Eliot, to Gonzo pushed OOB against the Broncos, to a single punt in the game against Manning, to a 28 pt 2nd half lead in Indy, to clock management in NE, to Fisher's holding call in Pitt, to a double digit lead against TN, and any number of others all along the line, would be different.

We have a great history when we finish 13-3. Then again, we just suck in the playoffs.

Still the #1 seed, still the division leader, still the favourite to take both of those and even in the worst case scenario, I'll take my chances with Mahomes in this AFC out of the #5 seed.

Yeah, I'm still all right with this season right now.

FloridaMan88 12-13-2018 11:40 PM

Perspective... instead of sealing the deal tonight, the Chiefs now face a must win game in Seattle.

Just a massively blown opportunity.

Best22 12-13-2018 11:41 PM

Our offense plays better on the road.

But our defense is stronger (less weak) at home

No they're not.

HFA will not matter to this team. The defense is too much of a liability.

Because playing the Ravens and Broncos is clearly easier than the Seahawks and Raiders?

Yeah, I'm still all right with this season right now.

If we're favored there it will only be by 1 or 2 points.
