What did you do for your 10 year HS reunion?
Somehow I got tasked with planning my ten year reunion. I'm drawing a blank on entertaining things to do for a reunion beyond go to a bar or take a tour of the high school. Any good ideas?

Stayed home...

stayed home for 10 yr. and 20.
zero desire to go. And I had a good time in HS; but not interested in seeing a bunch of people I didn't care for to begin with; only to compare the awesomeness of each other at the reunion. BUT, i saw pictures of a few of the reunions, and they basically went to a bar. I think they went to a place like Chicken & Pickle; drinks, food, and activities to do outdoors etc. So maybe something like that? |
didnt have one.

Look at you with your fancy HS degree and book learnin.

Probably didn't even realize it was the 10 yr at the time. Haven't gone to any of the other big ones either, 20 or 25.

Mine was just a gathering at a country club...food/drinks. My ex's was a casino night. Alumni could all stand around talk/catch up etc, but the spouses/dates could play Blackjack, craps and other games. That worked well.

Was never too close to anyone I went to HS with. Prefer not to live in the past. Still have close friends in KC that I stay in touch with but always felt like an outsider with the JoCo kids I went to HS with.

I think for our 10 year we had a tailgate at a homecoming football game, my friends and I grilled and made chicken quesadillas for everyone, and then we met somewhere for some drinks after, and then had a family Bbq at a lake the next day.
My last one, I just hosted at my place. A friend brought a smoker, we cooked a bunch of meat, made a fire and sat around and shot the shit and had some drinks. It was a good time. The best part at 10 years plus, at least in small town is the pretense is gone. It's not about who is going to school for what. It was just a good night with a few beers and conversation. That's an advantage of a smaller school and I was lucky enough to have had a close class. This wouldn't work at all for a larger school. hell, I've considered having a similar off year party this summer, mostly because I'd like to see these people when we're not at a funeral. |

I went to my 10 year. It was ok, I can't remember where it was held. I do remember walking in and not seeing a soul that I recognized. I started to think I made a mistake in coming home. Then I looked over to a Keg and there were all my old buddies standing around yucking it up!
Two things that stand out in my mind of that evening. There was an incident where one of my old running mates was wanting to beat someone up. I was thinking, man these guys haven't grown up, there still in high school. The other there was this girl I knew who was really not attractive in high school I could tell back then she really wanted to go out with me. I just wasn't interested due to a lack of physical attraction. She ended up being the hottest girl there at the reunion. I don't know what happened but the 10 years were really good to her! She told me that night she had a huge crush on me and wondered why I never asked her out. I certainly couldn't tell her it was because she was butt ugly back then! |
Went to a bar for 10 year, skipped the family picnic at the park during the day. Skipped 20 year one altogether. With the advent of social media people keep up with each other much better than they did in the past.

I didn't go, but typically what I've seen is a formal dinner followed by drinks where you bring a +1 for one evening followed by a family friendly event the following day (usually activities in a park where room isn't limited).
