How the Chiefs could protect themselves in a Tyreek Hill contract

The most important part of that article by Joel states that this upcoming offseason has a niche to it.

Teams will have a franchise tag AND a transition tag at their disposal. So even if a deal isn’t worked out for Jones and Hill, the team can tag both players to have a great chance at keeping both.

Should have resigned him months ago.

Maybe its just the way I look at it but what should change from what was on the table before?
If nothing happened , nothing happened. Id think that its impossible for them to say "dont see that woman, dont speak to that woman, have no contact with the mother of your children" or this contract is void.
The "terrified" thing isnt great but thats not really worrisome considering his behavior since becoming a Chief.
What would constitute the contract to change? Just the risk involved of someone else trying to start trouble?

Yeah but back then everyone wanted him cut. Who didn't?

Only the overly-emotional idiots wanted him cut. Veach’s job is to get the best players at the best deals and he had his chance. His reactionary nature isn’t particularly helpful.

They tried to get EB to buy a cancer policy and list them as a beneficiary. Either the deal will be heavily in the teams favor, or it's going to be an ugly drawn out process.

View the poll that was started back then. Might surprise you.

Have security follow him 24/7 and approve of any woman he wants to look at.

Wait...have you always felt this way? This is a very surprising take I didn't expect from you. What's your take on Kareem Hunt being cut?

It's not really the money, it's the cap hit should something happen. There has to be a clause that gives the team an out from that hit to protect them.

I went on record very early in that thread saying I didn’t. I always maintained the terrified comment could have easily meant because he had damning evidence on her.

It was about both.

Yep. I remember. It just didn't make sense to follow immediatly with,"That's why you can't keep a man," if it was about threatening violence. At least that's how I saw it.

Kiimo 07-25-2019 04:56 PM

I never wanted him cut but if he had broken his kid's arm I still right now would say boot him. Attacking Chiefs fans for reacting to bad information that never should have been presented that way isn't accomplishing anything. Blame the people who are actually guilty and that's KCTV5
