Have lived in Kansas 30 years and have been every year. (3 hour drive)
I proposed to my wife on "The old mill". I love the beer garden and fried green tomatoes. They fry everything ! I hear this year they will have fried beer !:clap::clap:ROFLROFL:LOL::p:p

We have family reunions there its always a fun filled time.

You gotta love the funnel cakes and corn dogs, my brother in law at 30 of them one time and sicker then a dog afterwards.

I am a big fan of Sedalia- great place to visit.

They have already had that one this year right? Is the OP referring to Hutchinson? sounds like fun to take the kids

Yep. My bad, I guess it was in August. Man the summer went by fast.

I would like to check out the Kansas one as well. Kansas gets a bad rap for being flat and boring- which some of it is - but it has a lot of pretty parts in the southern area too.

Went to Sedalia a few weeks back (never been to Hutch).

Favorite parts...watching the kids at the midway, home ec building (blue ribbon pies!), Fine Arts and Floriculture building.

Least fav parts...the heat, parting with a 10 spot for a corn dog and a coke.

AB might have some time available to go.

Spent a few days there during the fair. Loved it.

Grew up right next to it. State Fair week was always hell week when I worked at restaurants in the area - but it was always a good time.

Pronto Pups, the Old Mill, and Fried Green Tomatoes. Good stuff. The fairgrounds was always where our prom/afterprom was held too.

Wife wants to go. **** that shit.
