Team Leadership
With the so called leaders in the locker room I'm curious why one or more of them have not called for a defensive team only meeting and handle business. Call people out who aren't buying in and playing selfish.

Who needs an all-team meeting when Frank Clark can just have emotionally-charged locker room press conferences after the game where he vows the defense will be better. The others can just read about it in the news. Surely they'll be motivated enough to play better eventually.

I dont think a lack of effort is the issue.

I think Frank Clark is a big problem. Listening to preseason podcasts I thought he was changing the defensive culture for the chiefs. Dude has not produced the way I expected.

Unless you've been inside a meeting like that you don't know it can get intense and people are being held accountable fights have happened and more times than not things got better.
|
No point doing this when the HC and coaching staff won't hold anyone accountable...
|
Well when the head coach is not a leader by nature then things like this tend to happen.
|
On defense it is unfortunately a lack of talent/personnel issue, but on offense there is a lack of focus issue going on with the penalties, dropped passes, execution mistakes, etc.
DRob dropped a TD yesterday after Hyde's fumble that could have put the Chiefs up 14-0 immediately. Kelce with a false start play. All of the holding penalties by the offensive line. DAT dropping a point blank short screen pass. Erving and Rankin not falling on the sack/fumble and letting Houston recover it, leading to a TD before halftime. Clean this shit up. |

He’s out there busting his ass on one leg and the rest of the team, sans a handful of players, are just collecting a paycheck. |
We're gonna be the most penalized team in the league for the 2nd year in a row.
2015 - 15th in most flagged 2016 - 10th in most flagged 2017 - 5th in most flagged 2018 - 1st in most flagged 2019 - 2nd in most flagged behind the Browns currently That's not a good trend. It's gone downhill much like our defense did over the past 5 years. |

I hate to say it but when there's ZERO accountability should be surprised by this? |
"We love Big Red" / players.
