The Greatest Groundskeeper in History - George Toma
|
Thanks for posting this
Dude is a magician |
Before the 2015 World Series, I remember watching him vigorously raking the infield dirt with the rest of the grounds crew and dragging around one of those big hoses to water it down. He was 85 years old.
He eventually came over near where I was and I said, "Hello Mr. Toma, they have you raking the infield?" He said, "Well, if you want it done right..." and gave a wink. Then he handed me his business card...cool little souvenir. |
He's 90 & drives an older Nissan truck..with a tailgate worth a fortune.
Thanks for sharing. That was really cool. |
Juan Thornhill could have used him last week.

That guy is still around? Wow, I remember when they used to always talk about him back in the early 90s. I hadn't heard his name in years. What an amazing guy.

George and his Family lived in my neighborhood that I grew up in. REALLY Good people.
