Chiefs have, under Veach, been very active in the past signing players not currently under contract to what’s classified as a futures contract for 2020.

Here is the first player that I have seen signed as a futures.

Anthony Lanier DE 6-6 285 Age 26, Experience 3 years, College Alabama A & M.

Alize Mack TE 6-4 249 Age 22, Experience R, College Notre Dame.

Marcus Marshall RB 5-10 200 Age 22, Experience R, College James Madison

Mack was on the Chiefs practice squad from 11/05/2019 to 11/30/2019.

Marshall was on the Chiefs team through the preseason and was released 08/31/2019. He was then on the Chiefs PS from 09/01/2019 until 10/10/2019.

If you look at players from the Chief's practice squad, Gehrig Deiter is the only one not signed to a Reserve/Futures contract.

Interestingly enough, Elijah Mcguire is listed as a DB on there.... Is that a typo or did he switch positions and I missed it?

Not seeing that. Are you referring to profootballrumors.com, this thread, or chiefs.com? Given the number of Chiefs running backs, Elijah McGuire will probably only make it through the preseason on the Chiefs roster.

Futures contracts huh? Makes me think that if (God forbid) there is no season, are all the contracts auto extended 1 year?
