Anyone else think the Henry hype will turn out to be a setup?

I look for the Tits to come out throwing the football, at least in the first quarter. If I’m Spag, I wouldn’t come out in the first couple of series, stacking the box. Given time in the pocket, Tannerhill can do some damage.

Thats what they've done so far, Pass pass pass in the first half and then run run run second half. Im sure the D knows this. If I do, they better lol

Them coming out throwing would be an absolute gift.

PLEASE give me Ryan Tannehill trying to engage in a shootout with Patrick Mahomes.

I agree, I'm guessing starting with play action to catch us sleeping. Honey badger almost intercepts it!

From what we've seen throughout the season, Spags is going to come out pretty conservative for the first drive or two. He's not going to stack the box, and he's not going to lean too much towards the pass. He seems to like using that first drive as a measuring stick of sorts. See what the offense wants to do and make adjustments as he goes.

Yep. I'd be thrilled. A couple early 3 and outs means extra possessions for the Chiefs offense.

It’s not hype. It’s what their offense has been in the playoffs. They only grind the defense with Henry in the second half when they’re in the lead or it’s close.

That’s going to be really tough to do if we’re up by 2-3 scores.

Here are the Titans drives from the Week 10 game.

It might work for one drive, but we're too good in the front four and too creative with pressure from the back seven for Tannehill to handle. He can't read a blitz to save his life and he'll extend plays into sacks just like Watson last week.

Everybody is looking for reasons they're going to beat us. Well, we have a better offensive line. We have a better defensive line. We have far, far better tight ends and receivers. We have better linebackers. We have a better secondary. And now we're talking about finding flukey ways for a limited player like Tannehill to succeed, whereas they won't be able to stop Mahomes. Literally the only advantage they have on either side of the ball is Henry.

There is literally zero logic to the idea that the Titans are going to win the AFC championship in the strength of a single runningback when they're overmatched everywhere else on the field. Vegas got the spread right last week, and they probably got it right again this week.

We need to stop worrying about what Henry is going to do or how Tannehill might suddenly transform from Trent Dilfer into Kurt Warner. This game is about whether the Titans give up more than 40 points or less than 40 points before we send them packing, and just how quickly Tennessee fans return to the 'fire Vrabel!' talk from halfway through the season.

Remember 2006 when we won 3 in a row to end the season, including a bunch of miracles on the last day? We were red hot, we had LJ, and the Colts’ run D was last in the league or something. We were supposed to run wild over them. Manning vs. LJ was the big narrative. Well they stacked the box and we couldn’t do squat.

Of course Vrabel is not Herm, but still - I think it will turn out similar.

Chiefs will force 3 straight 3 & outs. Mahomes capitalizes with quick scores. Tits abandon the run and Tannehill starts turning the ball over. It gets ugly quick.

41-17. Tits score 17 in the 4th against backups

prhom 01-17-2020 04:14 PM

I have this feeling today that this game might just turn into a chiefs blowout of the titans. I think Mahomes and the offense pick up right where they left off last week and don’t stop until the game is over. Don’t give up any cheap points on scoop and scores, pick sixes, or long runs by Henry and this should be over quickly. That first game was such a cluster of weird stuff happening that I just can’t believe we won’t be ready and focused this time around and take care of business.
