Kyler Murray believes he could play football and baseball at the same time

Something else to think about regarding how lucky we are that we got Mahomes. We got a guy with baseball skills who developed them all the way into college who doesn't really want to go back to or think about playing baseball again. His mind is focused on football 100%.

If he weren't perfect, he could've been an asshole like Kyler who doesn't give his team everything.

Bo Jackson, Deion Sanders ... Kyler Murray?

The Arizona Cardinals quarterback, coming off his rookie season, said he believes he could join a short list of athletes to play professional baseball and football at the same time ... just not right now.

"I think I could," Murray told the Arizona Republic. "Athletically, I think, yeah, I could do it. I've been playing both my whole life. I would love to add that to the résumé."

Murray, who was selected by the Oakland Athletics with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2018 MLB draft and received a $4.66 million signing bonus, was a power-hitting outfielder at Oklahoma, where he won the Heisman Trophy as the Sooners' quarterback and was the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL draft.

The A's still believe Murray will play baseball and continue to hold his MLB rights, but Murray, for now, is concentrated on his football career.

Baseball down the line? Perhaps.

"I don't understand why in sports they try to marginalize it," Murray told the Republic. "They try to make you pick one and I get it, but we'll see. I think it would be fun. Right now, though, I'm just focused on football."

Murray finished his rookie season with the Cardinals with 3,722 passing yards, 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He also rushed for 544 yards and four TDs.

Not a good look for Kyler. They drafted him #1 and wrote him a signing bonus check for over $20 million. The least he can do is be 100% committed to serving as their franchise QB. This baseball speculation is a distraction that their organization does not need.

On the topic of Arizona, that's gonna be interesting to see how things play out for them. They were better in 2019 than 2018, so we'll see if they can keep improving. If it does not work out, I think it would be cool to see Kliff land in Kansas City with Patrick & Andy.

Another loser gooner that's sure to bust.

Regarding the Arizona Cardinals' expectations for Kyler Murray when they drafted him...

It looks like he came up......... short

"I don't understand why in sports they try to marginalize it"?

Maybe because they drafted you #1 overall and want you to be focused on leading their franchise, not distracted by expanding your brand and putting yourself at risk in other sports?

Baseball will make a fine backup plan when he busts, though

And I think this has completely gone over his head.

Well, it doesn't sound like he has the insane dedication it takes to be great QB.

He must have watched the 30 for 30s on Bo and Deion like I did last night.

Clickbait story.

Murray and his agent have not taken any steps to do anything other than what he already signed up for which is NFL with restriction on doing anything else.

"But we'll see."

He wants to do both. He's probably going to try to do both at some point. The fact that he'll even try by asking permission from the NFL or whatever is bad enough.

Hell... maybe MAHOMES wants to do both. But Pat is smart enough to say flat-out: "No. I'm staying with football." You do NOT hear him saying, "...but we'll see."

Apparently the "heat is a little too hot in the NFL" for Murray. Already crying "Uncle".

Mahomes has not been asked about that and has never expressed any interest in that since he became a legit NFL QB prospect.

Mahomes had 2 ABs at Texas Tech without a hit and pitched one appearance and gave up 3 runs without getting an out.

Why you would think you have some psychological profile on Kyler Murray based on a clickbait story is silly?

He looked like he was going to be a MLB position player until his last year at Oklahoma and then some shorter QBs and other QBs from Big 12 offenses were looking better in NFL and his NFL prospects went up.

Some reporter asks him about it and he says what he thinks. maybe he should just tell reporters to STFU when they ask clickbait questions.

Mahomes is great because he is great, using Mahomes greatness to justify hating some other guy is uncool.

Hating other guys is VERY cool. I'm fine with it. No, I don't hate everybody, and I don't hate Kyler, but if he gives a douche answer like this, sure... I'm going to hate on the douche answer and proudly stick out my chest and say, "I'm so glad MY QB doesn't do or say shit like this."

Can I ask if you're an Oklahoma fan? Just wondering.
