KC is up there with the “big boys”!
I’ve been trying to think of cities or even states that are home to teams that have won championships in more than one of the major American sports within a 5 year span over the past couple decades. Obviously Boston. Chicago if we’re counting the Blackhawks. Maybe New York? Where am I missing? Anyway, the point is that at the beginning of 2015 this city hadn’t done shit for titles in 30 years, minimum. A short 5 years later, we’re at the table in the Hall of Legends(in recent history, anyway). Pretty cool
Also pretty cool that both our championship teams won titles the same way. Heart break the year before followed by a desire to win that would not be slowed by any deficit. Not sure I’ve ever seen anything like it. |
You could throw Sporting in there as well and, if you want to stretch a bit, the Blues in St. Louis. Certainly the era of sports irrelevance for KC/Missouri has ended.

I guess California as a state because of the Warriors/Giants. But that’s a big ass state with plenty of teams in each category so it diminishes it some to me.

But people love the Chiefs in general these days. Wake up, guys. It's 2020. Mahomes is the face of the league and the most popular and arguably liked player in it. No one disrespects us and, more importantly, no one ignores us now. |
BTW, before someone points out a mongol like Mangini or whoever else has been outspoken against us/Pat, get outta here. That's just ESPN trashnoise trying to generate controversy where there isn't any. None of those fraud detractors actually believe that shit.
