Cities with Multiple Super Bowl and World Series wins

I was thinking of that today. Chiefs have 2 Super Bowl championships, Royals got 2 World Series wins. What other cities have at least 2 of those:

New York
Boston
San Francisco
Oakland
Baltimore
Washington
Pittsburgh
Miami
Kansas City

Am I missing any?

You got it.

I think that's it. Crazy that LA only has one SB win and it was a rental team.

Doesnt New York only have one Super Bowl? The Giants Super Bowls were all while they were in New Jersey.

Were the Florida Marlins in Miami? Did they just change their name to Miami Marlins or did they legitimately move?

They won their World Series in the stadium we just won the Super Bowl in.

This is like saying Sporting KC isn't Kansas City, Missouri's soccer team.

Chicago has numerous NFL championships, but only one Super Bowl victory.

Doesn't really seem fair that decades-old World Series count, but nothing football related prior to the mid-60s.

GloucesterChief 02-04-2020 11:04 PM

Does NFL championships count? Then you would add Detroit, Cleveland, Philadelphia, and Chicago.

Other than Washington, all of the cities have won multiple World Series since the Super Bowl has started.

Kansas City also has a MLS title.

And KANSAS CITYS TEAM - The Kansas Jayhawks won in 2008 :D

Even from that regard, the Royals actually hold up pretty well considering they only started in the 60s and some of these other teams started in the 1800s. 4 World Series and 2 wins holds up pretty well against the rest of the American League over their history.

Yep. Since the Royals came into existence, they have the same number of World Series wins and two more pennants than both Chicago teams combined.

I enjoy reminding Cub fans that the Royals accomplished in two back-to-back seasons what took the Cubs 71 years. :)

Man I thought st. Louis might have a shot. the Rams won it once... The football Cardinals team never won anything.

St Louis Cardinals only won the NFC East twice in 74 and 75. For the younger folks that division had the cowboys Redskins Giants and eagles

If Milwaukee wins another World Series to go with their 1957 title with the Braves and one counted the three home games the Packers played in Milwaukee County Stadium in both 1966 and 1967 regular seasons, they could qualify.
