If Mahomes wasn’t avail, what was KC strategy for QB?
Good thing we won’t ever know but had this convo with some friends and we all had diff opinions. What do you think the plan would’ve been?

It was Watson. He was the backup plan. Still way better than Alex and any option we would have had the next few years had we missed on Pat
|
Easily Watson. Not as good as Mahomes but still more of a threat than Alex.
|
I dont know that they move up for Watson though. I think they ride it out with Alex a few more years.

I'm not convinced that they move up for Watson. Watson's play recognition just doesn't fire as quickly as Mahomes, which is why he holds the ball so long and takes so many sacks.
And that would've shown up on the drawing board....the one Reid put Mahomes through the ringer on. And lets not forget Reid's favorite Alex trait: Gigabytes. |

Of course none of us KNOW, but based on what we've heard, it was Mahomes or bust. And like i said in my previous posts, im not sure that Watson wow'd Reid on the board. Mahomes' intelligence is one of the best parts of his game. If Watson processed as quickly as Mahomes did he wouldn't hold the ball so damn long and take so many sacks. |
Andy gets his qb
