Leonard Fournette on the trading block..should Veach bite?

A few folks have mentioned this on another thread but I thought it deserved a thread of it's own as media sources, both national and Chiefs associated, have linked the Chiefs to Fournette HERE and HERE

Now, Fournette was obviously a first round pick with tons of hype and potential when he came out and there can be no denying he was sensational in his rookie season HERE where his 1000 yards rushing, 300 yards receiving and 10 TD's helped to guide the Jags to the playoffs where he again showed his class by getting four TD's and 242 yards in the games he played.

The next season as we know Blake Bortals got exposed and the Jags were a mess. He missed half the season due to a ****ling leg injury but still managed to get 400 rushing yards, 185 receiving and six total TD's.

Then came last year HERE and my lord he looked devastating. Yet again he got 1000 yards but this time he notched FIVE HUNDRED receiving yards as well. Way more receiving yards than Damian Williams had last year and more than what Kareem Hunt had in his rookie season.

I think we could probably get him for a modest pick tbh because I think the Jags are gonna try to tank for Lawrence...so probably a 4th rounder for next years draft could do it? Who knows...but a 25 year old talent like this doesn't fall into your lap very often. He'd cost us 4m for this season and then we'd have that fifth year option too. IF he's sensational in those two years then we tag him for another. Three years of Fournette without having to pay major bucks sounds tempting to me as I think he would cause absolute mayhem facing those empty boxes.

I wonder if D. Williams had won the coin flip for Super Bowl MVP if we would still be seeing these idiotic threads. Give it a rest people. We have one of the NFL’s best values at running back. We need to find him a backup not a replacement.

I watched yet another highlight video of last season, and you know, Damian Williams was not just good. He had some spectacular plays. Flat out spectacular.

We are fine with him at RB. Shut up about bringing in another, and for pete's sake don't even mention that Kareem guy again.

We are set right now. If it ain't broke and got us to our first SB appearance and win in 50 years, then DON'T FIX IT.

No, just no.

Extremely overrated back and locker room problem.

No thanks. Don’t need that crap on this team.

Hard pass.

He's not really in the typical Reid type back imo. So now, unless we get fournette and a first rounder for jones.

One or two plays every three games does NOT mean you're a good back in this league. Williams has never played a full season and our running game was ranked 23rd last year. So please take your head out of your ass and get with reality.

His ability to catch the ball is underrated as seen by him getting 500 yards last year despite having a rookie throw to him for most of the year.

"Value" does not mean QUALITY dummy...the running game was poor last season...period. And anyone who doesn't want to improve that area of the offense is a naive fool imo.

He just doesnt seem like a shifty runner. I dont watch him that much cause why would i watch the jags. But hes always struck me as a north and south powerish style guy. It seems like Reid prefers Mcoy, Jamaal Charles, Kamara type backs.

Lol "overrated" after having 1000 rushing yards and 300 plus receiving yards in the two years he's played a full season? Ok buddy

Watch his highlight videos that I posted in the op..you'll be amazed how shifty he is :thumb: .

I don't think we should trade for Fournette. I don't think the coaching staff wants a guy who will go to Twitter and complain about the direction of the team if things aren't always going great. I also think he is a walking injury waiting to happen: ankle injuries will catch up with you your entire career.

I think Mahomes alone opens up the run game, and I think the current stable we have is okay. I would bet the Chiefs get another RB in the draft or in the UDFA pool.

This thread sucks

Red Dawg 04-20-2020 06:38 AM

Hell no. He will want a bunch of money a year from now and isn't worth it for our offense anyway.
